Harnessing PLR Products For Residual Income

Many of us are members of sites where, for a monthly fee, we get the rights to use resell or private label products. Most likely, the majority will simply sell on the products as they come in order to make instant profits. There is a way though to make sure you continue to generate an income long after the products have been sold.

Most resell rights and private label rights products are ebooks, but you can also get software, short reports and articles to use. It’s private label content we will be looking at, and if you’re wondering why then it’s simple. Private label products, as a rule, come with the right to do as you please with them, resell rights products don’t. Resell rights mean you can sell the product (and master resell rights pass on the resale rights to others), but the product remains unchanged.

Have you ever bought an ebook and noticed at the beginning there is a line that says “brought to you by www.sitename.com” or similar? That’s a link to the distributor’s website. If you have a plr product you can put your website name there. It’s a great way to get a free link to your site, and it can mean a big jump in traffic if you have success in selling lots of copies of the ebook. That in turn can mean increased Adsense revenue, more subscribers or extra sales of products featured on your site.

You may also have noticed within an ebook recommended links to products connected with the subject matter. These are affiliate links – when a reader clicks on those links and subsequently purchases the product, the owner of the plr product receives commission. And guess what? If you own the private label rights to that product, then your affiliate links can be put in instead. This is the basis for viral marketing.

Of course, if you alter a private label rights product and then sell it along with those same rights, the next buyer will be able to change the links too. If you pass on just the resell rights, your links will remain and every time the book is purchased you will reap the benefit.

The best way to generate residual income and ensure your product goes viral is not to buy a plr product, but to write your own and offer it to others with resell, giveaway or rebrandable rights.

Just imagine, as a private label reseller with a successful product, how many of your links will be out there, and how much residual income you will be making!
